fire Lindy Ruff everybody will agree with me on that he may do the same thing last year and the year before. Hire a good head coach who would be a better job than Lindy Ruff. Have to say that the “Russ meltdown” after the U23 loss is an understatement. I think we drove around my neighborhood for 20 minutes before I finally went home. While I agree that the team is very talented on paper, just the way they played was pretty poor. Like Russ said, I think they will be just fine in the long run but I still worry about the overall impact. Missing out on an international stage could potentially hurt the development of players such as Shea, Agudelo, Hamid etc. Hopefully I am wrong, but we shall see.

Very interesting take here Russ, my one question about not wanting anyone to challenge Ruff in the locker room is why anyone thinks Vanek would be that guy in the first place. I admit I am hardly a hockey fan yet recall in past seasons Vanek not taking the “C” because he did not want to be a leader. Even if his mindset has changed and he decides now is his time to lead, I would find it rare to see his personality shift to the point where he would become the strong voice Ruff is supposedly avoiding.
